Growing up, I used to run to school. I ran from home to school in the morning. I ran back home for lunch. Then after that, I ran back to school. I represented my school in sports. I then started competing in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, before independence.After independence, I was able to represent Kenya in various events, defeating athletes from Uganda, Tanzania, then going to Africa Games, to the Commonwealth Games and then finally to the Olympic Games.
Double Olympic Games champion, the legendary Kipchoge Keino has donated his Olympic Laurel award to a school named after him in Uasin Gishu County. The former National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOC-K) president, who became the first-ever recipient of the award in 2016, donated it to Kip Keino High School as a way of motivating students and encouraging the young people from the region to take up sports as a way of life.
Legendary athlete Dr. Kipchoge Keino wants the renovation of the Kipchoge Keino Stadium in Eldoret completed.The veteran track star said the renovations at the facility have dragged on for over ten years and this has impacted negatively on the country's sportsmen and women.He said the facility is so iconic when it comes to sports in this country, especially in the production chain of track and field stars as well as football among other sporting disciplines.
Athletics Kenya have introduced a raft of measures in a frantic bid to contain the rising cases of athletes using banned substances.In a strong statement issued on Monday, the AK said it will launch its most potent weapons to wage permanent war against all suspected agents of doping in the country.“As the national federation in charge of the sport in Kenya, we reiterate our unwavering commitment to weeding out the vice of doping in the country,” the statement read in part.

The yearly tour was launched in 2020 and is taking shape to be a world-class event.
